Malaysia ’s first-ever batting cage
facility on the rooftop of 1 Utama Shopping
Centre will soon be opened to the public.
Named “It’s a Hit!” the centre is the first
of its kind in the region. Being the main
sponsor, Hitachi selected the name “It’s a
Hit!” in line with one of its on-going
campaigns.
In April 2006, Hitachi and Jolt
Sports together with other sponsors
held a media preview on the
unofficial opening of “It’s a Hit!”
Batting Cages at 1 Utama Shopping
Centre. Even before its opening,
“It’s a Hit!” Batting Cages has
proven to be a hit with sponsors.
Hitachi has signed on as the first
title sponsor of the batting cage
centre.
The Managing Director of Hitachi,
Mr. Shigeharu Annaka was present at
this media conference to take the
symbolic first swing in a batting
cage to officiate the opening of the
batting cage.
“I grew up with baseball and
recognize this as a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
record Hitachi in Malaysia’s
sporting history. We are proud to be
able to help raise the profile and
professionalism of the sport in the
country, and be at the forefront of
what will be one of the most
exciting recreational concepts the
region will see in years,” said Mr.
Shigeharu Annaka.
“The fact that we have an
existing campaign called “It’s a
HIT!”, a play on a famous baseball
phrase, make the sponsorship an
outright winner,” he added.
Many other activities were held
for the media during this media
preview. Prior to the event, members
of the media were asked to dress up
as one of the activities on that day
was Best-Dressed media person in
baseball/softball gear. Members of
the media were also invited to
participate on a batting cage
challenge where they will stand a
chance to win a 32” LCD TV. |
